Tell me if this sounds familiar; 8v8, no respawn and map specific game modes focused on tactical teamwork. America's Army is still in closed beta but should be going public soon. It's totally free to play since your government paid for its development. Yes it's first person but put that aside and this game is perfect for SOCOM fans. There are eight maps with four modes. Each map is designed with one mode in mind, you can't play anything but escort on hospitial for example. Gameplay is fucking solid. Unlike other tactical shooters (hi siege), you're not locked into one playstyle. Go slow and methodical, rush and blow up a route, toss your nades then camp or do whatever. Like SOCOM learn the map and do you girl. The biggest difference is when someone dies. You get 1 chance to revive them with minimal health. This really is an awesome addition to gameplay and adds a ton more to the game. As far as gun fights, you can hip fire pretty fucking accurate so get your strafe on. You can also turn on someone if they're aiming chest level. Gawdddddd it's so good. Here is some gameplay down below. Skip around in the video and watch a little bit. Tell me you don't see an awesome game here. Best thing is the devs are hella open to feedback. Right now they're working on getting dedicated servers for launch. The gameplay below is peer to peer.
