  1. I would count it as something that in beta status. The issue with the packet capture library not always starting in the current build was a bug I did not expect. I normally do self audits before releasing a new build, but I did not notice that issue. The other issue is the no DHCP support which I know about, but plan on implementing. As manual network configurations were still work and did not get any complaints.

Overall I think we all be happy when the next build release.

@ChicKeN seems to be right about making it more open for more people could test it. As issues like the above probably were have been found a long ago and fixed.

Someone made a good point on Facebook. Why does this require donations to access? This community has stated over and over again they don't want anything to do with a donation link. Celerity and I received so much shit because of a donation link.

We gave Celerity shit for a donation link because, first, he has a bad history here and we assumed it was for less than honorable purposes. Second, once he stated it was for maintaining the site or whatever (Which is still questionable), people softened on it a little.

I think there's a difference between asking for donations to maintain a cheap website and asking for donations to help upkeep a third party software to play SOCOM with far less lag and connection issues.

I get that but at the same time when I put up my donation link it was for the purpose of offering prizes, maintaining the website, and website improvements.

I pay $110/m every month for my server. This allows me full control and allows for the website to be 100% at all times. Many of the cheap hosting providers over sell their services leading to slow response times and downtime. My site is a lot of server side code so I can't have it take several seconds to load the entire page. Grant it I have other paying clients I personally know I still don't break even nor do they require any of the resources Socom Online requires.

I have also paid a developer $150 out of my own pocket to do coding I'm not familiar with all to better the user experience. I do PHP, Java, CSS, and HTML. I do not do Perl, Python, or Flash.

Meanwhile I'm running 1 single ad that makes me .06 a day because 90% of people us ad blockers. One day I'll break even, but I'm not holding my breath. Not to count in all of the hours I have put in to add features, script security, and bug fixes.

I have no issue with the Donation link. If someone is putting in the work and someone wants to recognize that, then there isn't an issue, but with all the grief I was given I don't understand why some of the same people aren't overcome with emotion.

Anyway Dom keep up the work I want to see it succeed!

Like I said, if the donations are for legit stuff, people here won't care. Because it was Celerity it put people on the back foot. I'm also assuming most people probably didn't even know you or that your site has donations. I didn't.

i would say it comes down to the fact nobody knew you or knows you and you were teamed up with celertity. if a long time member of the community is working on a socom project and is asking for donations towards it, i would guess most people would be supportive of it. if someone new or someone that has earned a bad rep starts asking for donations towards something they are not going to get much support. <<< thats just the basics. now i believe your situation was a whole other story and you will have to go to the people involved to get it because i really didnt pay much attention. i think, the parties involved were bigfry, celerity, and maybe rev?

  15. It doesn't really matter as the client won't allow user to get access. I do not have it release to the public yet as I want it to be the most flawless experience as possible when it release. Which on 7/23 anyone that wants to test it will be able to.
