I third the notion, I haven't played it with a controller yet, but I can tell the feeling is there.
and who this QB Matt B?
Anyone play H-Hour over the weekend? Why yes, yes they did. So let's check it out, shall we?
They released Melee as a first pass which really sux imo. You just have to activate the action once you get close to the player and you get a one hit kill.
This is game breaking for me.. it looks fun for a few minutes but this is cheezy as fuck.
It would be somewhat acceptable if it would be required to touch the other player with your riffle butt to kill them -_-
Still hyped for what is yet to come like jump 2 climb, maps 5 and 6 etc.
Knife fights in the quad master race reporting in.
Damn Eagle_F15 went and updated his Steam Review and uninstalled. WTF happened?!?
ha! and there you have it!
Didn't S2 have melee? From my understanding, the masses didn't want a dedicated melee button. They wanted an action icon like the "dance" or 'climb"
I think this was when he left for Proj Con. There was some debate about a feature he didn't like so he just up and left. I think it's bitterness and not a real honest opinion. Not to mention he admitted to being new to a video game forum, that could follow that he doesn't understand the hidden work of video game production and the length it takes (hence his antagonism towards EA/1st pass excuses). I think he was just lashing out at the time.
It says "Updated August 7th" at the top...
You can do better.
And so can you.
When you read the review it becomes apparent that the small base is ruining the experience of those who causally play and come back for another peek, AGAIN.
New comers are targets as well if there is any hint of social retardation (which is subjective I might add) it seems they might cast you aside. But one example. This can also be evident if a language barrier exists. If they really were open to criticism, there wouldn't be such a fuss and folks SHOULD be ecstatic that others are joining the server and trying to see for themselves the state that it's in.
Looks like they stepped backwards with their Community engagement again and have since adopted the "fuck us?!?, fuck you!" mentality and that's just a gross look for a game trying to sport the name.
S1-CA only had melee in single player.
For those of you that dont know, the melee was one of, if not the most requested feature towards the end of s2 and throughout s3/ca.
I like AA's take down from behind move. Still gives you that nice stealth kill feeling or a nice moment of making your enemy look like a fool for not checking his back.
Melee? It always turns into a mini-boxing match once the first gun clip has run out in a fight. In SOCOM, I like that split second where both opponents have to make the choice of reloading their ammo, or switching to a pistol, or a grenade, or an evasive maneuver, etc.
But since I will never play H-Hour, they could put rainbow colored tanks and rocket powered quads in there for all I care.
Hey Luke is green again. Not So Retired staff?
Looking at it again, your comment is just speculation of drama from one side of the story. It could have been blown out of proportion from Eagle's side and the other side having no representation. It could simply have been him being negative in-game to where someone said "if you don't like it, don't play it" which in itself is a true statement that doesn't need to be taken offensively. Like when I play any shooter, I can't stand playing with people constantly complaining about a "broken" game (happens all the time in Siege). Can't stand it. Bugs the fk out of me. If you hate Siege, stop playing it. Same goes for any other game.
To sum everything all up, this is just HS drama wrapped in a bow in adulthood lives for people that enjoy HS drama and can't let go.
Can't you be a tad more clever in the "gotcha moment" was the analysis; hence the highlighted misspelling of "there" as we all know Eagle_F15 struggles with even the easiest of grammar and "their" being one of his most challenging words to date. He will adapt and overcome though so rest assured.
But explaining this now deflates the whole intent and therefore becomes a lesson in improvisation to which you lose in spectacular fashion. Like the fucking wind gets sucked out your humor or something because of a perceived imbalance in the force. Dude, you always this serious? Never mind forget I even typed this.
The impartiality your pushing though is sort of beside the point. I agree with some of what you say, but this isn't a random dude and isn't a random group of folks. It's the same people on all accounts. Same tired BS.
It wasnt a "gotcha" moment, i dont even know where you got that idea. i said that because it was an accurate review. and i spelled "there" correctly, you changed it and highlighted it like i made the mistake. that is why i said "what?"
I never used it before, didnt even know they had that feature. but i only have about 2 hours into the game..
I am not a fan of any locked animation melee, the idea of getting close enough to a person and then hitting a button that allows the game to take over just always seemed cheap to me. If i notice someone sneaking up on me at the last minute i should have the option to get away even if they hit the melee button.
i liked how it was done in con, 2 hits to the front or one from the back, plus it still gave you the same options as you described, it just added another option into the mix.
