I recently picked up a copy of SOCOM Combined Assault, and I'd love to get together a crew of guys one Friday or Saturday night soon to live stream a co-op over X-Link.

If there's anyone who's interested, reply away. If we get too many people, we can rotate people out over multiple nights.

I'm down. I already have a copy of CA so all I'll need is a PS2 a PS2 controller, and an internet connection. Maybe we can do a Kickstarter to get me all that shit.

Hey, you're the one who needs people to play with pal. I'm the one with the leverage here......

I've been dormant waiting for someone to show some interest in the co-op rather than play After Hours 2v2 again. I'm interested, unfortunately my PS2 is too new for me to use the FMCB card I have and get an upscaler. So everything past 50m is gonna look like an angry blobby terrorist man holding a grey stick.

I've been playing the single player, and it's great. I love it. The missions are challenging enough on Admiral to where multiple streams over a period of time could be done, which would give SOCOM fans something SOCOM to watch over a period of time as opposed to give one weekend or something.

I did that thing where I selectively read the things I wanted to read, and just noticed the livestreaming portion of this thread. I actually have already played one or two missions of CA co-op on Twitch, on GreenUp's stream if you remember him. Worked pretty well, although we had to communicate through Steam at the time because I had no PS2 mic. I do now, though.

If we were to do it, communication would just be done through Skype. It's way, way easier.

You mean you don't want to hear "kssh man down kssh got him kssh" coming through a nine year old Logitech that I fished out of a lake?

  10. I'm down... Although I don't have a mic that works with the Ps2 :/

Can anyone tell me if all that patch BS came they were talking about? Or is it still the same set up and I can just log in and play?

If it's the first one then I am not so down as I'm far too lazy to set up up.

We could always get a skype group or something going as well if there are other without mics.

*scratches head* I don't know if I have everything required to pull it off. Plus, I'd need to figure out X-Link.

Can't one of us just buy you the damn thing with a $15 VISA card and mail it to you in Canada? It seems like the shit you have to go through is just way too fucking much for a $15 dollar Playstation 2 USB headset on Amazon.

I'd send you mine, but I am sort of weird about that shit. Plus, its not out of a lake or anything, but all the black mesh is peeling off it and that's pretty trashy. I would want better for SOCOM brethren.

Not to discourage any generosity on this front, but Skype is going to be the goto for this event in particular.

That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure if that was going to be used in addition to. Good to know.

@Frosty_The_Swagman The goodwill gesture is still on the table. I can be your "connect" in the U.S.A. if you need that kind of support. That Amazon fee thing is pretty gross. Although, shipping is like $24 bucks. Is $40 worth it for a headset? Let me know.

Swilly if you're around tonight we should chat in Skype while I try to get the emulator working with XLINK. I know I can do it, I just need to put up the effort. If I get that to work, anyone with a computer built this decade would be able to play SOCOM on XLINK (though you'd prob still want a controller).

Maybe some of these settings can help you get started.

Good looking out dude. Gonna use this to get me started. High hopes I can get the emulator+XLINK working smoothly so I can stream/record the game play in a whopping 480p instead of 240. Also I aint got a capture card, so if I had to use my actual PS2 I wouldn't be able to offer streams/youtube videos. "The only easy day was yesterday"

Its possible to play the multiplayer on xlink, but I heard things get choppy if more than 2 people play. It has to do with the Dev9 plugin or something.
