Any chance for the Socom 1 sounds to be uploaded like this? I been looking forever to get some quality [not You Tube] Mp3's or wavs of that. Also, is there environment ambient sounds from the Socom 2 maps? Like the dog barking in the distance in Cross Roads for example :D

Out of the thousands of sound files Socom II has, I couldn't find any weapon or background noise, except for the flying geese on Bastian

I find that weird. I'm assuming all the background noises were on the disc, but it might be a proprietary assigned task with the PS2 CPU or something. I guess that's gotta be recorded from the game itself :D

This is good stuff. Do these downloads contain the music from multiplayer like when the round ends or when the bomb is picked up?

the little zinger music for things like start of rounds, winning the round during the MP were sooooo good in S2.

Would you be able to do the same for SOCOM 1?

Thank you guys so much for uploading these files. I'm in the process of creating an Arma 3 campaign based on the old SOCOM games and am trying to use as much original audio as I can, especially the music. If anyone has the voice and music files from SOCOM 1, 3, and Combined Assault I'd love some access to them for authenticity. Unfortunately I do not have any of the game disks anymore so I'm unable to do it myself, nor would I really know how to be honest.

Many years ago I ripped for myself all the SOCOM 1 sounds. The problem is that I don't know where the hell they are.

I keep only the music extracted from the PSS videos.

I remember using CubeMedia2 and other apps for ripping the sounds from a big file in the SOCOM I disc.

How much would I have to beg you to re-rip all of the sound files from the game again and put them online so I could download them for use in my project? :)

Actually, it's easier than you think:

    1. Go http://snailrush.online.fr/

    2. Download PSound 2.00 and launch it. Ignore the API-blah-blah error.

    3. Insert your SOCOM disc (I, II, 3 or CA).

    4. In PSound, open:

    [DVD_UNIT]:\RUN\SOUNDS\BNKSTORE.ZAR for sound FX files
[DVD_UNIT]:\RUN\SOUNDS\VAGSTORE.ZAR for single player/multiplayer voice files

    5. Say Yes to scan file. Press Start button.

    6. You'll get 6000 or so items in BNKSTORE.ZAR. Select all and go to File > Convert... Choose your folder and that's all.

With VAGSTORE.ZAR (6000 or so items too) the program will stop at same point. Press Stop button and convert the items.

I guess there are music files in VAGSTORE.ZAR that only CubeMedia 2 can read.

Download sample.zip attachment to see how they look.

Well my issue is I don't have any SOCOM disks anymore, otherwise I'd have been all over it :(
