I do not think I can help on your vacation day. I am willing to help any way that I can but I do not have a video camera or anything like that.

Great, my mic took a shit last night. I'm gonna have to bust out the soldering gun, I'm not letting my original SOCOM mic go just yet!

Yeah, you started to message me on Xlink last night. By the time I could respond, you'd left the arena. I was wondering what was up.

That was a colossal waste of time. Hope it goes better tomorrow.

It was shit last night, is it me and are the Trolls taking over Xlink now. We need to step up and control this shit. I almost popped in my CA disc to get away from it. If there were more on CA I would have played it last night.

Yeah, Paul, I feel ya. It gets that bad sometimes. It'll probably help us all if the TRS Nights were hosted in private arenas.

Last night was crazy. Most people couldn't join each others room for some reason. Once we got the private game going we did have a good 8v8 and 7v7 going on for a while.

I tried hosting a private TRS lobby on Saturday, at 8PM. I sat alone in it from 7:50-8:20, until I left and saw literally everyone was in Mo-Fears lobby. Then I got in a pissing match with everyones favorite resident Xlink troll, and joined the game. It was an 8v8 on vigilance that went pretty well, until the game booted everyone but myself and "Greenbud". After leaving that, I joined the new "No scrubs" game, and there were a grand total of 6 people, none of them from TRS, and each one of them (except Mo-Fear and the [NUT] members) were douchebags I'm not too fond of. Good luck this weekend, I'm going to be enjoying myself at a LAN party.

Yeah xlink sucked when I got on Saturday. I really don't know what was worse.... getting booted, dealing with horrible lag, my HDTV unable to give me semi clear quality or the xlink elitists trying to make a legacy for themselves 7 years to late. Im not turned off from the experience but it was far from enjoyable or something I would dare to put up with nightly.

Us TRS'ers need to stick to our guns about CM nights. If it were just us forum regulars in game, I doubt we'd have a problem wit the trolls or lag. We'd probably see 12 of us at most, but I'd rather do a 6v6 with decent people than lag in an 8v8 of douche bags.

Either way, I gotta get a new mic. My trusty S2 era logitech finally crapped out on me. I can talk, but cannot hear.

Last night was an "off night" on Xlink, probably because it was Super Bowl Sunday. Still, I saw some relatively new names from among the TRS and SOFs crowds: an indication, to me, that we'll have record turnouts as the first TRS Night nears.

Yeah, I'm guessing it's definitely not the experience you and others had in those last weeks on the Sony servers where you were maturely (if not warmly) welcomed by a crowd that was already gelled into private password rooms. But if you and other TRS and SOFs members will bear with us through the coming days and weeks, you'll have, at the very least, one excellent night per week. There will always be that "Xlag" factor: unstable service, poor lag-compensation, etc. But I believe it's manageable on the community side: it's just a matter of recognizing the like-minded, trustworthy folks with whom you can play in private arenas and rooms. I speak for a lot of Xlink regulars when I say I'm delighted and relieved to have the good guys from TRS and SOFs among us.

Just bought Socom 2 and CA from Amazon. My buddy who doesn't use his PS2 any longer is giving his this week. Just need to get a headset and then begin the process of hooking up to XLink. I'm thinking sometime next week I should be up and running. Looking forward to giving you my best 3-5 game biotches! haha!

Real quick, my Turtle Beach headset won't work, correct? They are USB also.

We're rolling PW'd lobbies now. We'll form up a little posse, and maybe after a few weeks we'll have a good established circle of people to have good, tactical games. It irks me to no end the grenade fights this game has become. I remember the golden days of S1/S2 when people played SOCOM like true SEALs, and not some bomb squads. Remember when this game was supposed to be about stealth?

I defiantly want to play socom combined assault again one day but xlink is dead on that side :(

I remember those days emphatically. You'd only really use a nade if you KNEW someone was camping a specific spot. Now I agree it's nade here, nade there, nade ERRRR WHERE!

I still remember early S1. When the beginning of the game was silent other than people calling out their direction. People tried to take the accurate shots, snipe a hell of a lot more, and games would be INTENSE. But, the last 80% of S2 became "get in the building or get blown up" game, but was still a hell of a lot better than what's out there now.

Sadly you're right. Games have just gone down hill since then.
