So much C9 and Aaron Rodgers accuracy grenades is awesome
Play Combined Assault.. I play often during the week and we have a great group that doesn't cheat..
Sad to see this, but I knew after 2 or 3 games on S2 that people were cheating..
Not going to deny that people cheat but just maybe it's because these people have been playing this game since 2003 and know every aspect of every map. If you want legit game play then get together with other patch players and make a patched game.
Yesterday. I've team killed one or two guys for blatantly glitching (wall hump). Kai captures:
Screen capture 1
Screen capture 2
Screen capture 3
Screen capture 4
Screen capture 5
Screen capture 6
Screen capture 7
I was in the process of convincing and bringing back some former SOCOM players. I give up. It's not worth the effort.
you're calling people cheaters for doing the "wall slide" haha tell yourself whatever you have to, to make yourself feel better.
haha , some people.
Also Chisty, your connection must be AWFUL. All yellow and red on cpature 7 with everyone. Stopp downloading gay midget porn.
Everyone can wall slide. It is not cheating. Lets look at a definition of cheating. Cheating - act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage, especially in a game or examination. Well here is 1 point that debunks your whole cheating theory about wall sliding. EVERYONE CAN FUCKING WALL SLIDE. Everyone. Yes, you too. So not one person has an advantage over anyone else. If you do not do it, its because you choose not too. Not because we cheat or we have something extra helping us, its because you fucking choose not to. It is part of the vanilla S2 game.
People like you accusing people of cheating is why Xlink is dead. I have yet to play a cheater on Xlink.
I hate the wall slide. I do it because I know someone on the other team is doing it too and there aint shit I can do about it because that is how S2 vanilla was played. If you didn't wall slide the other team took map control on you. If everyone wall slides it evens the stakes and the only thing left to determine who wins is skill.
Who did you think was cheating? I am curious. It is funny how the majority of the SOCOM community wants that S2 remake but they don't even play S2 on Xlink. I know why people play S3/CA and it is not because of cheaters.
Please enlighten me on these cheaters you know?
So what are you trying to be,, the final say so on who are deemed cheaters or not, you crack me up.. If you don't think people cheat on Socom 2 Xlink you're throwed off.. And the reason I play Socom Combined Assault is because I have more fun playing it with like minded Adults who don't cause problems..
I played all Socoms and enjoyed them equally, I was never a critic, I was a Socomer.
And as far as names go, let me call my local Hypnotherapist so I can remember names,, be right back with ya on that.. Been awhile since I played Socom 2 on Xlink.
When I see people like you say you play CA because there are clearly cheaters on S2 I say show everyone proof? Give us names?
The fact remains, I see people accusing others of cheating when in reality no one is cheating there is just a skill gap difference. I don't understand why you or anyone else keep throwing out these false assumptions or accusations of people cheating or people who "cause problems" with no real names or proof of these people.
One day I got on a random name on Xlink to test my theory. I played 1 map of DG SEALS and had an amazing map. Half the people on Xlink accused me of cheating automatically. I've seen dreamz, sin, and others do this as well. Automatically a cheater.
I understand the entire like minded adult thing. That is why I play with the people I play with and we all do that. So you and your like minded adults like CA more than S2?
So in your opinion, back during the S2 days, since anyone could go out and buy a gameshark or codebreaker, did this mean people coding weren't cheating cause the option was available to everyone?
That option wasn't available to everyone because the game didn't come with gameshark. SOCOM 2 came with wall sliding. It wasn't packaged with gameshark was it? So the point you are trying to make isn't valid.
But anyone could buy a gameshark, technically it was an option for anyone to use who wanted to. As for the wall sliding, no I don't think it was a big deal, more of an exploited bug sort of like dolphin diving or the knee slide trick out of the injured animation, but I was challenging your logic for why you claim it wasn't cheating. Cause now we could say "soft spots in the walls were in the game and anyone could use them so wall glitching wasn't cheating". You understand why I don't buy your logic for what is cheating vs what isn't?
Are you seriously comparing gameshark to wall sliding? My logic stands S2 came with wall sliding. S2 didn't come with gameshark. There are very few walls to soft spot and I am not affected because I don't place myself in those situations to get
I'll reiterate, S2 didn't come with gameshark but it did come with wall sliding. Wall sliding isn't cheating and it actually causes more issues than benefits you. Trying to jump over a railing? Nah, wall slide. Trying to jump over a wall? Nah wall slide. It limits us more than helps us because we can't even maneuver over objects as we should.
There isn't much else to say other than S2 came with wall sliding. It involves only S2 itself and no external source of help. Gameshark and wall sliding are not comparible in any way.
Seeing you defend this act would be funny if it weren't for the implications it has on xLink's future. The FACT of the matter is, wallsliding was patched out of the game. It was an unintended broken game mechanic, plain and simple. Whether it is in the game at launch or not is inconsequential. If a fighting game had a glitch where one character could just do infinite combos on everyone else without any chance for reprisal, people would not just deal with it. That character would be banned from every respectable competitive setting, because it's very presence ruins the game experience and will inevitably scare off new players if used abundantly.
You want to know why people aren't playing xLink? Because they don't want to sully their memories of S2 by playing a shitty, prepatch, laggy, glitchy tryhardfest with a vitriolic chatroom that will LITERALLY threaten to teamkill other players for their opinion on a glitch. This variety of vigilante justice is no new phenomenon in SOCOM, I realize this, but that fact does not make it any more acceptable when a growing populations is so vital to the longevity of our current SOCOM situation. The majority of the xLink players have become complacent and simply either adopted this glitch as a necessity, or decided to deal with it rather than embrace a solution, consequences be damned.
Not only that, but here comes a guy who is amazingly talented and is willing to put out fan patches FOR FREE, on his own time, with his own skills, and people are not only NOT willing to go through the process to get it, but actively CONDEMNING him for trying to help. You (not you specifically, Chicken, I'm using second person here, I apologize in advance for any confusion) want a solid SOCOM experience and now you're going to give the gears to the guy making it happen? We could have anti-cheat systems in place, more of the features lost in the transition from online to LAN, the sky isn't the limit but our options are a damn sight better than before this lad came into the picture.
I can't even be arsed to play xLink on a regular basis anymore because of the other people doing so. I don't mean to paint everyone with the same brush, there are quite a few upstanding individuals active in there, but a few rotten apples, man. It's a sad sight, too. This community needed to come together on so many occasions to even stay afloat amidst all the shit the industry has thrown at our franchise of choice, and now we can't get 40 people to download a free patch?
I've dreamt of the day someone would come along and provide community patches for this game. You have no idea how much I came when I saw that it was happening for real. I don't mean to oversell the possibilities here, but this patching business is one of the most exciting developments I've been able to bear witness to as it pertains to SOCOM in a long ass time. It just makes me sad to see it met with such a mixed reception. Surprising, too, as Harry has received mostly positive feedback from forumgoers. Though, I suppose, the crossover between forum members and xLink players isn't as significant as it could be.
jesus "tombstone" you are a waste of time, after reading your post in this thread...i'll never read another one again. comparing the wall slide with codes.. this is why socom will never be remade is because of morons like you who have nothing smart to say. they've forgotten all about us because they've had to read comments like yours.
ffs this community is poison. people are supposed to be grown up and mature ha, what a laugh that is.
I don't disagree that wall sliding is lame. If you watch mine or DreaMz stream you will hear us say continuously say as we wall slide that we wish it wasn't in the game because it changes the timing of the game completely. With that said, I do not want to be team-killing and causing issues with people because I know people will wall slide. Instead, I realize I have the ability to "even the stakes" so I do that. Back when S2 was released people played S2 regardless of the wall slide.
I like what Harry is doing. I think it is awesome.
we would still have the patch if not for someone named celerity who told us to delete it so we could play xlink.
if everyone agreed to no wall sliding, we would be the first to do it, i'll give it a try the next time i play, i'll ask the guys im playing not to wall slide, and even if they do it, i'll be the bigger man.
ya this guy harry came out with a patch, but i have to mod my ps2 somehow, i have no idea how to do that.. i rather leave my ps2 the way it came 13 years ago. still works that way.
Well thank god for that since you can't read for shit. lol. Apparently you missed the part where i said I know it's not the same thing but basically pointing out the flaw in his logic for what is cheating and what is not. So yes, someone as stupid as you should probably not read my posts since you need comprehension skills in order to understand what is being said.
